Assiut university lies within the city “actually it is the city” and allows access to the campus facilities.  In 2021 the university opened its facilities for the public for free and with subsidized fees. This including facilities of the Olympic village, university guesthouse and restaurants, convention center, events halls, and restaurants. Faculty of physical education provides training courses on all types of sports and activities.
The university libraries are only opened to their students, while online access is allowed in-campus and off-campus of thousands of resources through the Egyptian Knowledge Bank websites. Library fasciitis are opened to the public during special events and affairs. 
Assiut University is a green university as it is within the Nile valley, access is limited to certain areas.
The university has a theatre and in 2021. During the year, several performances had been conducted. Additionally, 20 exhibitions include the student’s handcrafts production from the faculty of fine arts.
The university provides regular shuttle services covering all areas of the city with subsidized fees for its staff, employees and students. During this year, the university provides an internal shuttle to communicate between different premises of the university.  Assiut University started in a rural area, thus in its plan, there was two huge residential campuses. In 2021, these campuses host about half of its staff. All buildings have elevators and private shaded park lot within a greenery atmosphere. The University has the largest dorms in Upper Egypt, renovated in 2020, It includes separate dormmates for girls (12 buildings) and boys (6 buildings) and additional separate buildings for international students.  Living expenses is generally very cheap in Assiut, moreover, the government supports for the fees of low-income families. Assiut University is now finalizing its new extension about 25 kms from the main campus in order not to cut short more from the agricultural land.
