Oral pathology lab
The vision:
To be a pioneer in the diagnosis and research of oral and maxillofacial diseases in Upper Egypt and to assist in research studies, locally and globally.
The mission:
As part of the college’s mission, the laboratory examines and diagnoses diseases and samples received from or outside the college hospital, assists in the necessary research, and provides diagnostic and research services with the aim of serving the community and the environment.
Objectives
- Speed of diagnosis and mastery of performance
- Providing histopathological support to researchers and postgraduate students from inside and outside the college
- Research service for faculty members and their assistant according to the college’s vision and mission
- Working to speed up and facilitate diagnostic and research services for cases received by the hospital to ensure speedy diagnosis and treatment
The laboratory offers many teaching, research and therapeutic tasks:-
1. Educational services
The lab provides the slides required to teach the practical part of the oral and maxillofacial pathology subject by cutting the samples and passing them to become in the form of glass slides, as well as photographing them for use in the educational process by examining them with optical microscopes in student laboratories or displaying them on the data show in the stands and laboratories
2. Laboratory research services
- The laboratory provides an educational service to the assisting staff in the department by training them on the steps of preparing samples, passing them, examining them and photographing them.
The laboratory provides imaging and diagnostic services for samples used by researchers and postgraduate students.
3. Therapeutic services
- The laboratory provides a treatment service for patients by diagnosing the cases that come to it from the Oral and Maxillofacial surgery and oral medicine Departments, from both paid and free treatment sectors in the hospital.
