Symposium of The Center for Education Development Recommends With:Deleting the Optional Questions and Committing with the Objective Estimating

In The framework of the activities of Education Development Center in improving the system of evaluating the university student, the Center organized a symposium dealt with the objective aspects in forming the papers of exams in the light of the criteria of the right exam. The Symposium is held under the auspices of Prof. Moustafa Kamal, the President of the University, and Prof. Said Ibrahim, the Vice-President for Students and Educational Affairs. Prof. Abd el Towap Abd Allah, the head of the center declared that the symposium aims to determine the criteria of the right exam to be a precise method of measuring the educational outcomes, where the written exam is one of the most important methods of measuring. The symposium recommended that the emphasis on the preparation of a booklet containing practical foundations for forming the exams and the general criteria that should be concerned in the light of the right written exam and to be distributed on the scientific departments of the faculties of as a reference must be followed, avoid the exam paper which depend on the optional questions, because it delete the measuring of some of educational process outputs, which may effect on the importance of the measurement of learning outcomes, stressing the need for agenda of the exams specifications before its formulation and determine the relative significance for each subject in the curriculum in order to determine the type and number of questions appropriate for the paper, and interest with including the paper for some questions that differentiate between students according to their abilities and academic achievement as recommended the holding of a symposium to discuss the substantive controls patch and interpret the results of examinations to be used in the development of the educational process.
