Nuclear Medicine Unit opens at South Egypt Cancer Institute

Under the auspices of Prof. Mostafa Kamal, President of Assiut University, and in completion of its leading role, South Egypt Cancer Institute, the Nuclear Medicine celebrates its opening to be an addition as one of the latest units of this type in Egypt. The event was attended by Prof. Adel Ryan and Prof. Ahmed Abdu Jaeis, Vice Presidents of the University together with Dr. Sekitory Ahmed, Consultant and Head of Tumors Department, University of Manchester, England. Dr. Mahmoud Mostafa, Dean of the Institute declared that the Unit is the outcome of scientific cooperation with the Ministry of International Cooperation. It aims at providing the Institute with the latest capabilities and devices to cope with the development of the age. He added that the Unit is supplied by the latest gamma camera with compact scan device costing about 5 million and a half Egyptian pounds and that this apparatus will contribute to early and rapid diagnosis of tumors and henceforth identifying and improving the ratios of recovery among patients.
