First Oscar in Egyptian Universities Festival of Live Arts in Assiut University March 3 - 6, 2013

Under the auspices of Dr. Mustafa Kamal, Assiut University President and Dr. Adel Ryan, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, the General Administration for Youth Care, Assiut University holds an artistic festival entitled "Live Arts" at the Nile Theatre, aiming at discovering and encouraging talented youth and providing them a chance to express their skills and talents. Being the first Oscar in Egyptian Universities, the festival is considered also a chance to connect the university students with artists from the province. In addition, the Oscar aims at reviving the decaying arts through young generation of university talents. It is expected that the festival will include a variety of programs and competitions in monodrama, kinetic rap song, stand-up shows, monologue, ballad songs, hymns, poetry, chanting, individual and collective songs, and pantomime.      Dr. Adel Ryan asserted the importance of this festival starting in Assiut University to be held later in the future with a larger participation including all Egyptian Universities. Apart from the artistic participation and honorary prizes which will be awarded to winners, the festival will honor a number of Assiut University graduates who have remarkable productions such as: Ramy Gheit, Islam Merghany, Hosam Hosny,Abdel-Bary Beebo, Khaled Nasr, Ahmed Kheir, Mostafa Aatef, Mahmoud Moheiy, Ahmed Dhahy, hany Farouk, Dheiaa Al-Meteiry, Haitham Al-Sherif, Ridha Fadhel, Sayed Abdel-Razek, and Maisara. All talented students are invited to participate in the competitions. General supervision of the festival will be undertaken by Mrs. Dalal Mohammed Khalil,  general Director of Youth Care Administration, Mr. Sayed Mohammed Noah, Mr. Mohammed Gomaa, and Ms. Rasha Galal.
