Assiut University Adopts Initiative To Develop Upper Egypt With Fareed Khamees Foundation for Environment Development

Dr. Mohamed Abdel Samiea, President of Assiut University held a meeting with a delegation representing Fareed Khamees Foundation for development including Consultant Moatasem Rashed Amin, General Secretary and Dr. Adel Alyamaani, General Coordinator of the initiative. The meeting was held in the presence of Dr. Mostafa Kamal, Former President of Assiut University and Dr. Ahmed Gaeis, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research.   The meeting parties discussed means of cooperation and joint work to elevate the living standards of Upper Egyptian community and population, fight unemployment, and eliminate high poverty rates which categorize Assiut as the most impoverished province in the republic.   Dr Mohammed Abdel Samiea indicated that several ideas have been considered for discussion and proposition of proper mechanisms for implementation. The ideas discussed include creating job opportunities for Upper Egyptian youth, and establishing small and middle projects, in addition to the concern devoted for educational and research domains that push into the country’s progress and promotion.
