the importance of participating in the presidential elections, with a new symposium from 
the College of Medicine today, Monday, December 4.
Today, Monday, December 4, Assiut University witnessed; An awareness seminar was held, 
as part of a series of seminars: “For the sake of your country, be positive, and participate 
in the 2024 presidential elections,” organized by the Faculty of Law, for students of 
the Faculty of Medicine, under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed El-Minshawy, President of 
Assiut University.
Present at the symposium were Dr. Dwaib Hussein Saber, Dean of the College of Law, and 
Legal Advisor to the President of the University, and Dr. Rajab Muhammad Al-Kahlawi, 
Professor and Head of the Department of Public Law at the College, and Vice Dean for 
Education and Student Affairs.
Dr. Dwaib Hussein confirmed: Keen, supportive university; To establish positive participation 
in such an important event; Considering that participation in the voting process in 
the presidential elections; A duty, an inherent right of every citizen, and a real 
opportunity. To enhance transparency and political legitimacy, calling on the university 
family to be an example and an effective model for society, in ensuring the promotion of 
the values ​​of national belonging and political awareness. To complete the process of 
construction and development.
The symposium witnessed attendance: Dr. Alaa Attia, Dean of the College, Dr. Amani Omar, 
Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies, and Dr. Muhammad Abdel Rahman, Vice Dean for Education 
and Student Affairs, with the participation of a group of faculty members, staff, and 
a crowd of college students.
For his part, Dr. Dwaib Saber called; Young people not to give up their electoral right, 
and to participate in the constitutional entitlement to the presidential elections, in 
a positive and constructive manner. Due to the importance and seriousness of the position 
of head of state, who has distinct legal powers and governance between the legislative 
and executive authorities in the country, stressing their important strategic role in 
decision-making and nation-building.
Dr. Rajab Kahlawi pointed out in his lecture during the events: To turn the attention of 
the whole world to the Egyptian presidential elections, and its electoral base of up to 
65 million voters; They will choose between (4) presidential candidates, sending a message 
to young people; The importance of participating for a better future for the nation, and 
emphasizing the legitimacy of the elections and the next president, reviewing the most 
prominent presidential election procedures. By explaining who has the right to run for 
the presidency of the republic, and who has the right to cast a vote, in addition to how 
to know your electoral domicile, and the possibility of changing it, through presenting 
the chronological stages of these elections, starting from the opening of nominations, 
until the announcement of the final result.
Dr. Alaa Attia praised; With the efforts of the Faculty of Law and the support of the university 
administration, to support student activities and organize this series of important awareness 
seminars, he also thanked the Faculty of Law and its professors who took the initiative; 
To raise awareness of this distinctive constitutional entitlement, praising the positivity 
of young people, their confidence in their turnout at the ballot boxes, and their pride in 
the constitutional rights they enjoy, which must be demonstrated to the whole world.
For her part, Dr. Amani Omar; With sincere thanks to the administration of the College of Law, 
under the patronage of Dr. Dwaib Hussein Saber and Dr. Rajab Al-Kahlawi, for organizing this 
series of seminars; Thus, it will be the first university to hold a series of seminars. To raise 
awareness of the importance of participating in elections.
