Research Abstract

Summary of the study:
In the age of information and communication technology (ICT) revolution, there have been major shifts in social work practice. Among these shifts increased professional
awareness of the importance of review of its effectiveness as a profession, and shaped this awareness after a series of attempts at experimentation and practice. All of those attempts ended to move toward scientific research as the basis for building scientific knowledge.
After that, the best practice was emerged and involving several models such as practice- based research, empirically- based practices, Evidence-based practice, and Knowledge-based practice. The focus of all these models and practices, without exception, was to emphasis knowledge-based practices and documented through scientific research as a guide to practice. For getting this knowledge and information in the light of ICT was become easy. The ICT
was having effect on the attitudes and ideas, and thus the persuasions of many professionals and academics in various professions were generated. The viewpoint of the current study was that the Social Work through its method of community organization, which have models for
information mast to inquiring the effect of ICT on persuasions of its practitioners. No scientific study, whether, Arab or foreign addressed this topic. This current study was applied on intentional sample of 48 practitioners in the fields of social action were interested in
scientific research and used ICT at Assiut Governorate.
This study aimed to explore the impact of ICT on persuasions of social work practitioners to the importance of the use of scientific research in practice "and falls under this two of sub-goals; which are: 1-identify the aspects of utilization of practitioners from ICT regarding
scientific research, 2 - identify the effect of ICT on increasing the persuasions of social work practitioners to the importance of using scientific research in practice. The second goal contains four sub-indices; which are: A) the public value of research in practice. (B) The use
of research in the professional intervention. (C) The recruitment of scientific research for the skills and talents of social workers. (D) Development and advocacy of social policy. The results of the study proved the high utilization rates of ICT with regard to scientific research
with a relative degree 78.5% and Increasing the effect of ICT on persuasions of social workers to the importance of using scientific research in practice with relative degrees of 82.9%, 80.6 , 79.4 , and 79.4.for the four sub-indices, respectively. Also this study developed number of recommendations, for example: activating the roles of the social worker as a consumer of knowledge through information technology, and provide him with the skills of critical thinking and the ability to documenting the knowledge. Also his role as a producer of knowledge through providing operations and the foundations of the scientific
research process for collect information and solve problems encountered in practice mast been developed.
