The events of the 15th Media Festival for Students’ Graduation Projects at Assuit University launch tomorrow.

Dr. Al-Menshawi: Under digital development and social media a media graduate faces many challenges related to the professional and ethical aspects.

Prof. Ahmed Al-Menshawi, president of Assuit University, announced the launch of the events of the 15th Media Festival for Students’ Graduation Projects for the academic year 2022-2023 in the presence of General Essam Saad, Assuit governor, Prof. Ahmed Abd El-Moula, University Vice-President for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Mahmoud Abdel Alim, University Vice-President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and under the supervision of Prof. Magdy Elwan, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Dr. Khaled Salama, Vice-Dean for Education and Student Affairs; and Dr. Rehab Al-Dakhily, head of the Media Department.

.Prof. Ahmed Al-Menshawi, President of Assuit University, emphasized the significant and crucial role of Media Faculties and Departments in building public awareness and formulating values and attitudes. He also emphasized the importance of a media graduate to be highly aware of local and international issues, have speaking, negotiation, presentation, and debate skills, to be aware of the massive unprecedented developments in the field of communication and information technology that the world has witnessed in recent years. The responsibility of Media Faculties and Departments in preparing and qualifying their students has increased to produce a comprehensive media person capable of dealing with the communication technology revolution as well as the professional and ethical challenges posed by the current developments in traditional and new media under digital and social media developments.

The events of the festival start with the opening of an exhibition that includes: students’ press graduation projects and public relations projects. The events also include a number of activities where a film of all students’ graduation projects, samples of the projects that rank high, and the performance of the Department of Media will be presented. The festival also involves a tribute to all the university prominent figures and leaders and press and media prominent figures.

The events of the festival will witness the honoring of a number of press and media prominent figures who have obvious imprints in serving the community and university. The festival will also honor the department’s students whose media graduation projects rank high. The department will witness the graduation of a new batch of graduates qualified for promising opportunities in the labor market. The events of the festival are scheduled to start at 10 a.m. in the Octet Hall of the Administrative Building at Assuit University.
