Faculty of Engineering Information Center

In 24/1/2009 the center has been established after the suggestion and approval of the university’s president. The center works with a strategic plan in order to develop the faculty of engineering. Center of information seeks to have updated databases works with accredit standards that is based on the development of National Authority for quality Assurance.

In the light of this, we seek to enhance and facilitate the processes inside and outside the faculty by providing technological information infrastructure. The center works on facilitates the transferring of information among faculty’s departments. In addition, the center facilitates the communication between faculty’s members.

A brief summary about the center:

The center is affiliated with the Faculty’s dean as a chairman of the center board. The center is considered as internal community service which is keen to serve all the beneficiaries from the faculty such as students, academic staff and faculty’s employees. As a result, the center follows up students’ progress within the faculty by communicating with graduate students to enhance the educational process.

The center works on managing the faculty’s internal affairs by exchanging the information among scientific departments and other departments. The center is keen to serve the activities of different fields by creating different database.

Unit’s objectives:

We work on developing all means of communication and information inside and outside the faculty by building internal database for scientific, educational and administrative activities within the faculty among its departments. However, center’s objectives concerns:

  1. Being a source of all information on Faculty’s basic activities, including teaching, postgraduate studies and results, research, community service, student and other related activities.
  2. Being a source of all information on scientific activities such as conferences, seminars, seminars, workshops and other scientific activities.
  3. Center works on updating data and linking them to the university's databases.
  4. Being a source of information of all student activities that take place in the faculty, such as competitions, trips, forums and other aspects.
  5. Works on developing the work within the faculty by analyze various information, data, statistics and submitting periodic reports.
  6.  The center is considered as an electronic archive for all faculties

Center's resources

The center provide various resources based on the contributions from the university, faculty and different departments. The center works on analyzing data to enhance performances the center exploit all these contributions in order to raise the performance and services.

The Center's Board of Directors:

Board of directors is the authority that responsible for managing, setting up and achieve goals. This board is formed according to faculty’s dean proposal:

Board of directors responsibilities

  1. The Board of Directors sets the policies and regulations related to the technical, administrative and financial affairs of the Center.
  2. The Board of Directors review and approve the bulletins, periodic reports, and statistics and analyzes on the performance of the various units and centers.
  3. Meetings are held every three months to follow up on the various reports submitted by the Director of the Center on the performance of the Center and the achievement of the objectives of its establishment.

Center membership

A delegate from each department and unit of the Faculty units.

Any Faculty’s member can submit and join to be a member in the center by submitting a membership application stating what the member can perform in the center, and after the approval of the center’s president.

Center activities

  1. Foundation stage:

Create an integrated information system for all Faculty’s information and data and its various facilities that concerns:

  • Academic Staff.
  • Students Affairs.
  • Graduate Studies.
  • Control.
  • Units, centers and centers of a special nature.
  • Administrative units and centers.
  1. The stage of creating databases:
  • Check previous data and statistics.
  • Establishment of the electronic archive.
  • Establishing systems and databases for all activities in the Faculty.
  • Linking college databases with university databases.
  1. The data analysis and publishing phase:
  • Statistical analysis of various activities and data.
  • Availability of information and statistics on all faculty’s activities.
  • Continuous updating of data and statistics.
  • Issuing a quarterly informational bulletin for the faculty
  • Issuing specialized information bulletins for the college departments or units or for any new goal.

After these previous stages the center will provide many services such as:

Center’s basic function is to provide a comprehensive database for the faculty about all faculty’s’ beneficiaries centers and units in order to obtain a huge no. of information inside and outside the faculty

  • The possibility of obtaining any information about any student at the faculty
  • The possibility of obtaining any information about any faculty member in the faculty.
  • The possibility of obtaining any information about any services provided by the faculty’s units and centers.
  • The possibility of obtaining reports and inquiries at the faculty
  • The possibility of issuing comparative statistics at the faculty.
